After Watching Their Home Burn Down One Family Parties; Life is Good, Even on the Bad Days

Fort Worth, TX, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- “It doesn’t matter what circumstances come your way. It is what you do with it,” this is the belief of a family who escaped a fire with only the clothes on their back. Instead of focusing on the sadness of the situation, they are throwing a party.

It was a month ago now that the home of EO James went up in flames. He had lived there for 50 years. Just a week prior he had gotten the info of how to apply for an emergency fund that would allow him to completely rewire the 80 year old electrical system. On July 17th he found out it was too late. The uninsured home was a complete loss. No one, not even the dogs, were hurt.

Three generations lived in the home at the time of the fire. It was a home James planned to pass on to his grandchildren. Instead, this Saturday August 22nd, you will be able to spot James’s entire family plus at least a dozen random volunteers tear down the remains.

If you get a chance drive by the house on Davis Street this Saturday. While most would be stressing and distraught during this time the family is rejoicing. Amidst the ash and debris you will find a party, a demolition party; there will be music blasting and people tearing down the house. For lunch they are planning to have barbeque. “I am sure some people will find this in bad taste because our house was barbequed. But it wasn’t their home, it was mine, and I think the irony is funny,” said James’s daughter-in-law.

It is amazing to see not only people volunteering their time but one company is donating the use of their dumpster and Bobcat. To feed the volunteers the family is hoping to have local food establishments donate meals.

Learn a lesson from this family. No matter what comes your way, life is good, even on the bad days.
