BITI and Kenton Group Partner to Provide Broadband Compliance Reporting Services to FCC Form 477 Filers

Mulberry, FL, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Business Information Technologies, Inc and Kenton Group have partnered to bring a complete compliance solution for telecoms reporting their Broadband activities as required by the FCC in its June 2008 regulation. The FCC has reported that it may take as much as 70 to 80 hours to prepare the reports and upload files for a typical filer. The BITI/KG solution greatly reduces the time to prepare and process the required reporting data.

The new FCC regulations which went into effect March 1, 2009 (with recurring reporting every 6 month) require the telecom filer to assign a US Census Tract ID, append the subscriber’s up/download speed, technology, and whether it’s a business or residential account to each of its subscriber’s address. The filer is required to enter this data manually onto the FCC Form 477 website in a specific format. “This is a time and resource consuming effort on the part of the telecom. The cost to prepare the information in the required formats is very expensive”, said Ron Mullins, President of Kenton Group. “We looked for a partner that could provide the services and develop the software to make reporting easier and less costly. We selected BITI”.

BITI and Kenton Group offer two options: a full service compliance reporting option, and a software solution for those filers that want to produce the reports in-house. The service solution offers flexibility to select the elements of the reporting process that the filer wants to outsource (geocoding, geocoding and report preparation, complete geocoding, reporting and uploading of the data onto the FCC website.)

The BITI Geocoder and Form 477 Reporter software produce the required census tract ID assignments, reports, and file upload formats that comply with the FCC Form 477 regulations. “Our knowledge and expertise in geographic processing is an excellent fit with the Form 477 reporting requirements. BITI has been providing compliance reporting software and services for FFIEC banking programs for several years and the geocoding requirements are the same”, said Gary Mertz, President of BITI.
