Lennar Sponsors Food Drive to Help Those in Need
Lennar is Sponsoring a Food Drive to Benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank at Their Division Office And Lennar’s Welcome Home Center at Emmens Preserve in Myrtle Beach.
Myrtle Beach, SC, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Coastal Carolina Division of Lennar is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank. The food drive held at Lennar’s Division office and Lennar’s Welcome Home Center at Emmens Preserve in Myrtle Beach will run through Saturday, August 22nd.
The mission of the Lowcountry Food Bank is to feed the poor and hungry located in 10 South Carolina coastal counties. The agency collects, inspects, maintains and redistributes food products to a grassroots network of 416 member agencies that provide hunger relief services.
“We are honored to sponsor such a worthy cause,” said Cheryl Vineyard, Coordinator for Lennar’s Coastal Carolina “From Our Home To Their Home” program. “There are too many people who are hungry and suffering. We, as a community have an opportunity with this drive to make an impact in the lives of others by providing one of the most important resources, food.”
The Lowcountry Food Bank will accept monetary donations as well as the following items:
Protein Products
Canned meat, canned fish, canned soup, peanut butter and beans
Breads, Flour and Cereals
Baking mix, dry cereal, oatmeal, rice and pasta
Fruits And Vegetables
Canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned juices, spaghetti sauce, jelly and jam
Dairy Products
Shelf stable milk, powdered milk and evaporated milk.
The Lowcountry Food Bank will not accept items that have been home canned or jarred, cans without labels and opened products.
“We encourage everyone to participate in the food drive. The more we contribute the bigger the difference we all can make,” Williams said.
For convenience, food items can be delivered at two Lennar locations:
Lennar Division Office- 3901 North Kings Highway, Ste. 22, Myrtle Beach, SC. Located in Village Square Shopping Center.
Emmens Preserve- 1562 Tradition Avenue, Myrtle Beach, SC. Located on the former Air Force Base off of Farrow Parkway.
