Atlanta, GA, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Debut Feature by First Cinema and Spry Brothers Films Will Have Theatrical Run
at Carmike Cinemas Nationwide
Today, First Cinema and Spry Brothers Films announced the major theatrical debut of independent horror film Lynch Mob. The film received rave reviews at Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors.
Lynch Mob is a horror film rife with gore and dark comedy. When a mob interrogator flips to the FBI, witness protection sends him to Lynchburg, Georgia, a small town with a dark curse. The townspeople hungrily greet its newest resident – they are immortal cannibals, cursed since Civil War days to a diet of human flesh and to remain in their squalid little town. But the mob weasel is wily and swaps his life for a mob of mouth-watering Mafioso. The Yankees descend and a full-scale war erupts between the flesh-eating rednecks and the street-wise mobsters.
Director Byron Conrad Erwin says, “The film is not your typical horror fare – it’s clever, cunning, brutal and comic with an ending you’ll never see coming. This is one of the best horror scripts I have ever seen and I couldn’t wait to commit it to film.”
Actors Tony Darrow (GoodFellas, The Sopranos) and Paul Borghese (Julie & Julia, The Sopranos) lead a stellar cast of characters. Darrow, who was injured during the shoot, insisted the cameras keep rolling to capture his wound saying, “Hold the doctors. It’ll look more realistic with my blood. Let’s keep shooting.”
Screenwriters Scott Stamper and Rachel Stamper are thrilled to see their latest screenplay make it to the big screen. The writing duo share this sentiment, “If you see only one mafia, cannibal, zombie, horror film this year, make sure it’s Lynch Mob!”
Lynch Mob will premiere at Carmike Cinemas (www.carmike.com) on September 18th.
