Production Furnaces Standardized and Ready to Turn “Pink” Into the New “Green”
Torrey Hills Technologies, LLC Leads the Effort to Tailor-Make Drying, Firing and Sintering Furnaces for Dye Solar Cell (DSC) Production. Torrey Hills Technologies, LLC today announced the successful introduction of a new line of production furnaces designed exclusively for the manufacturing of DSCs – solar cells that get their pink color from a mixture of red dye and white metal oxide powder in materials that capture light.
San Diego, CA, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- This new line of furnaces serves beyond the scope of DSC prototype fabrication and has been standardized and optimized for the production runs of working devices. They adapt easily to the demands of both technology development institutions and commercial manufacturers.
“I’m delighted that these furnaces have become the trusted choice of a number of top DSC developers and manufacturers,” said Ken Kuang. “I firmly believe that DSC will become a favorable replacement to conventional silicon cells, because it costs less, works in cloudy areas with non-peak sunlight, and leaves a much smaller carbon footprint.”
Among the new furnaces, HSH3003-0607Z is used for glass conductor activation and the firing of working electrodes and counter electrodes. It utilizes infrared quartz heating tubes that heat solar cells efficiently from the top and bottom of the furnace. With a similar heating method, HSG3003-0402 furnace dries DSCs by passing them through preheating, drying and cooling zones. HSK3505-0711N sintering furnace, on the other hand, uses FEC (fully enclosed coil) heater and allows the titanium dioxide nanocrystals to “melt” partially together in order to ensure excellent mechanical adhesion on the glass.
Torrey Hills Technologies, LLC (http://www.beltfurnaces.com) is a leader in developing advanced yet affordable equipment and supplies for electronics and alternative energy industries. The company runs HENGLI furnaces’ worldwide sales and technical support, including onsite installation and post-sale maintenance. Headquartered in San Diego, California, the company is now shipping world-wide to more than 30 countries.
