New Opportunity to Join Turkish Olive Harvest During Autumn Half-Term: Exclusive Escapes
Escape to Turkey’s Lycian Coast this autumn on a brand new half-term break which offers families and couples alike the chance to roll-up their sleeves and join the olive harvest at a super-stylish hotel. Departing 24th October 2009, Turkey specialist Exclusive Escapes is offering guests the chance to immerse themselves in a traditional olive harvest at the spectacular Dionysos.
Richmond, Surrey, United Kingdom, August 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The hotel’s organic farm has received one of the highest accolades in Turkey for the quality of its extra virgin olive oil, which is produced from a grove of 1500 trees. This is the first year that Exclusive Escapes guests have been invited to join the estate farm harvest, enjoy olive oil tastings, sample special dishes, and learn different ways it can be used in cookery.
Each day there will be informal organized activities ranging from getting your hands dirty working alongside the local farmers, through to sophisticated tastings by nightfall sampling many different types of international virgin olive oil. Guests are welcome to be as active or inactive as they like, while enjoying the spectacular canyon-top location overlooking the sea.
The olive harvest is another string to the bow for the Dionysos which has a growing reputation as a foodie haven. The hotel is 70% self-sufficient from fruit, vegetables and herbs grown on its own organic farm, with milk, cheese and butter sourced from its lands. There are three individual restaurants – Waterside, Turkish and Mediterranean – with a selection of traditionally Turkish and contemporary cuisine.
For those looking to relax and unwind, there is no shortage of facilities which include a large infinity pool overlooking the sea, a Decélor spa and beauty centre (complete with open air hot tubs) and a private beach club (with watersports), just a short stroll down the mountainside. There are also shady gardens peppered with hammocks, a tennis court and an air-conditioned gym.
Half-Term Price: Exclusive Escapes (T: 020 8605 3500 or www.exclusiveescapes.co.uk ) offers seven nights’ B&B at the Dionysos departing October 24 2009 from £650pp sharing, including return flights (ex Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester) to Dalaman, transfers and a day’s luxury gulet cruise.
