Web Seminar Will Teach Credit Unions How to Meet Anti-Money Laundering Requirements in the Face of Changing Business Models

Miami, FL, August 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) announced that it will be giving a free Web seminar to educate credit unions on how to comply with anti-money laundering laws and better safeguard their institutions against the risks associated with fraud and other financial crimes. The seminar is being held on Friday, September 11th from 12:00pm - 1:00pm ET.

“As credit unions expand their service offerings and broaden their customer bases, the risks of fraud and money laundering increase dramatically,” said ACAMS Executive Director Gregory Calpakis, CAMS. “It is crucial for credit unions to have strong AML controls in place including solid customer identification programs and risk assessment programs.”

The Web seminar will cover best practices for improving Customer Identification Programs, provide tips for enhanced risk-scoring through account transaction analysis and address how to recognize and respond to the risks associated with Remote Deposit Capture and emerging technologies.

Seminar attendance is free but space is limited. Attendees can register at: http://www.acams.org/FreeWebinar2009/default.aspx
