Gotham Screen 3rd Annual Film Festival & Screenplay Contest

Final deadlines approaching – Line-up soon to be announced.

New York, NY, August 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The final deadline for submissions to the 2009 Gotham Screen Film Festival and Screenplay Contest is approaching quickly. Submissions close in four weeks, on September 7th (extended submissions still possible through withoutabox.com). Entries for feature films, shorts and documentaries, and screenplays are now being accepted at www.gothamscreen.com.

The festival will take place at Tribeca Cinemas in downtown Manhattan, from October 20th thru 25th, 2009, showcasing an eclectic selection of international and American feature films, shorts and documentaries.

Set up by a group of Gotham based producers and productions companies, the Gotham Screen screenplay contest is specifically targeted at up-and-coming writers who have the talent and craft to make it in an increasingly competitive market, yet do not have agency or management representation.

The popular screenplay contest comes again this year with a $2,500 cash prize for the winning screenplay; with excerpts from selected entries performed live at a staged reading. Gotham Screen hopes to find writers who are serious about their craft and ready to work with producers in further developing their screenplays and stories.
