Clockwork Salon Presents the Bay Area’s First Ottoman Empire Steampunk Event

Berkeley, CA, August 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- This first ever Clockwork Salon will take place at Tanjia Restaurant in Oakland – and promises to be an unforgettable evening of sumptuous Moroccan feasting and delightful entertainments. Proceeds will be used to produce the Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition, (formerly the California Steampunk Convention), returning to the San Francisco Bay Area in March, 2010.

To attend a Clockwork Salon event is to enter another world, an alternate Victorian and Ottoman history - a Steampunk Past-That-Might-Have Been. For the Clockwork Caliphate’s salon, Guests will step through a keyhole doorway into an elegant and finely appointed desert tent, lured by the aroma of spiced meats and the exotic sounds of Arabic music; Airship Pilots will come to ground for the night, Scientists still garbed from their day in the laboratory will mingle with Adventurers, Explorers and Sheiks in desert robes. As everyone sits to enjoy the lavish Moroccan repast, the Caliph need only clap his hands and beautiful belly dancer Amira Ariana will begin to weave her magic...
