Check Safety First Launches in the UK to Help Hoteliers Improve Reputation and Protect Their Bottom Line

International health and safety expert, Check Safety First, will launch its E-Cristal health and safety risk management system in the UK to help hotels address poor standards that are damaging reputations and costing the industry millions of pounds in lost revenues.

Reading, United Kingdom, August 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- International health and safety expert, Check Safety First, will launch its E-Cristal health and safety risk management system in the UK to help hotels address poor standards that are damaging reputations and costing the industry millions of pounds in lost revenues. The company already works with 1,500 hotels in 24 countries, advising on health and safety best practice and helping ensure that the highest standards are established and maintained.

The E-Cristal system is designed specifically to address the health and safety needs of hotel chains and enables managers to benefit from industry best practice, while providing the flexibility to tailor audits to individual processes or sites. In addition to food safety and hygiene, the system covers common health and safety issues such as, fire safety, legionella and pool safety. It includes monthly unannounced auditing, training and knowledge management support, with powerful tools such as monitoring and reporting, incident management and executive risk management control. A handheld auditing capability is also available, as are several different language variations.

Mark Harrington, CEO of Check Safety First, explains: “For many years there has been complacency within the hospitality industry about the legal health and safety responsibilities in regard to their guests. Our experience has shown that a proactive investment in a health and safety system will save the industry money and its reputation.”

“The UK hospitality industry now has an opportunity to establish the foundations for growth as more home-grown holidaymakers stay at home this year, but can only translate this into long-term business by ensuring that the health and safety of guests is its number one priority,” continues Harrington.

Liverpool-based Hard Days Night Hotel, is the first in the UK to use the E-Cristal system. Mike Dewey, General Manager at the hotel, explains: “The success of our hotel is built on reputation and a high percentage of our business comes through word of mouth recommendations. For this reason, it is essential that standards are constantly high. Through working with Check Safety First, we will set a benchmark at which myself and my staff can strive to achieve. This ensures that we always provide our guests with nothing but the very best standards.”

Once a hotel has successfully demonstrated and maintained a high standard of health and safety using the E-Cristal system it will be listed on the consumer website www.checksafetyfirst.com, the first site to provide the UK’s travelling public with access to a database of venues that have obtained high standards for their efforts in health and safety.
