Workflow and Redaction Come Together with K2-Informative Graphics Partnership
Alliance brings in-demand solutions to legal and other industries.
Redmond, WA, August 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Software makers K2 and Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC) today announced a partnership that will, in effect, drastically simplify incorporating redaction technology into workflow and business process management solutions.
“This partnership is exciting for us and it will be quite meaningful in many verticals, but particularly in the legal sector,” said K2’s Glen Bryant, VP for Americas.
“Legal organizations are often burdened with mounds of paperwork to process, and much of it contains sensitive information. The alliance of these two companies brings about powerful solutions that eliminate paperwork, streamline processes, ensure compliance and manage information securely,” Bryant said.
Electronic redaction is the removal of sensitive content from electronic documents for safe, efficient distribution to courts, the media, clients, vendors or any other audience not authorized to see the complete content.
With this partnership, K2 will launch event templates, or wizards, for its workflow and BPM software (K2 blackpearl, K2 blackpoint) that allow users to tie in capabilities of IGC’s Redact-It software for electronic redaction. The redaction can be added to any part of any process using only drag-and-drop tools and simple electronic forms.
K2 and Redact-It applications integrate with SharePoint and other Microsoft technologies, LegalKey, Elite, Aderant Expert (formerly CMS) and other commonly used legal software.
“Since launching Redact-It, we have seen significant demand for redaction capabilities integrated into formal workflow processes, especially in the legal industry,” said IGC’s Jeff Herding, VP of Sales. “The requirements can vary — from meeting regulatory compliance processes or assisting in the production phase of e-discovery to being integrated in some critical stage of a workflow.”
“K2 is an innovator in the area of business processes management on Microsoft’s SharePoint platform, so partnering with them was a natural fit,” Herding said.
K2 and Informative Graphics will present solution demos at the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) Conference, Aug. 24-27 in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit www.K2.com/legal.
