Madrigal Chorale of Southfield Fall Auditions
Madrigal Chorale of Southfield will hold auditions for new members on September 8, 2009 at Southfield Lathrup High School in Southfield.
Southfield, MI, August 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Madrigal Chorale of Southfield will hold auditions for all voice parts Tuesday, September 8, 2009, beginning at 6:00 PM at Southfield-Lathrup High School (19301 W. 12 Mile Rd. Southfield, MI) Call (248) 352-9527 to arrange an audition time. Be prepared to sing a brief solo and sight read a short selection.
For more than a century, Madrigal Chorale of Southfield (MCS) has served the community and enriched the cultural climate of Southeast Michigan. MCS is comprised of seventy men and women, all competitively auditioned, who share an unequalled commitment to excellence in vocal music performance.
In addition to a full local concert season, the accomplishments of this collegial group include performances under the baton of world renowned conductors Leonard Bernstein, Neeme Järvi, Rachel Worby, Yan Pascal Tortelier and Erich Kunzel; appearances in venues across North America including the White House and Carnegie Hall; concert tours of England, Wales and Italy; regular performances with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; and local radio and TV broadcasts. MCS was featured at the 1995 Midwest Music Conference in Ann Arbor during the prestigious invitational Choral Hour sponsored by the American Choral Directors Association. In 2001 MCS performed in the Strickler Concert Series at Albion College, MCS has recorded three highly successful CDs in 2003 at Interlochen, and in 2009 at the Bay View Music Festival.
This season includes the SE Michigan premiere of “Et” by Gordon Van Gent and a new composition by Stacy V. Gibbs.
