Corm & the Coach Return to the Champlain Valley and the North Country with a New Home on the Radio and TV Dial - 107.1 WNMR-FM
After a year away from radio, Steve "Corm" Cormier and Coach Tom Brennan, formerly of UVM Mens Basketball and ESPN, return to the airwaves with the relaunch of the award winning morning show, Corm & the Coach.
Burlington, VT, August 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Convergence Media Group (CMG), a multi-media broadcaster, is pleased to announce the launch of its newest station, 107.1 WNMR and the return of Burlington’s Favorite Sons – Corm & the Coach. Beginning September, the FM Talk station will serve the Champlain Valley and North Country listeners with studios located in Chittenden County. As part of the programming, listeners can hear their favorite show including Dan Patrick, Dave Ramsey, Curtis Sliwa, Free Talk live and Michael Smerconish. Programming plans for 107.1 WNMR also include the creation of local shows, utilizing regional news and broadcast talent to provide listeners with local news, weather, and entertainment.
Heading up the group as President of Convergence Entertainment and Communications Radio Group and part of the ownership team in the Burlington/Plattsburgh market is long-time radio personality and area resident, Steven “Corm” Cormier of Corm & the Coach fame. Complementing his leadership role of the broadcast division of CMG, Corm & the Coach will be reuniting, broadcasting live and local weekdays 6-9am beginning mid-September. Corm & the Coach will also begin broadcasting live on sister TV station WGMU Channel 39 beginning mid-Fall 2009.
”There are a vast number of radio stations in the Burlington/Plattsburgh market that do radio fairly well. However, there is a definite void for a current, topical and relevant morning show as well as stations that are designed from the start for and by the local listener.” According to Corm, “The programming direction of 107.1 WNMR is coming directly from within and not as a part of a large corporate conglomerate plan. Such a direct connection to the local listener not only generates on-point, quality programming but allows for growth and change as needed and dictated with the growth and changes of the listening community.”
The launch of 107.1 WNMR in the Burlington/Plattsburgh listening area is in direct response to the growing demand for relevant local programming and while the station will be carrying some nationally syndicated shows, it will also be working with partners in the community to create informative and entertaining programs that touch upon local entertainment, food, news and politics. The programming direction and use of talented broadcasting veterans will deliver a strong broadcasting performance.
