VPI.Net’s ‘Radio4Nerds’ Let Loose on iTunes; Hip Podcast Quickly Gets on ‘New & Notable List’
Quirky Trio Obsesses on Cool Buzz in Games, TV & Film, Comics; They Argue, Laugh, Ad-Lib Bad Jokes – and Their Fan Base Loves It
Irvine, CA, August 26, 2009 --(PR.com)-- VPI.Net, a full-service entertainment and marketing agency, didn’t know what it was in for when it gave the green light to a weekly program all about “nerds.” Yes, nerds, those people who are passionate about obscure interests or pursuits that put them happily into a creative zone where they play video games, read comics, or get turned on by anything creepy or quirky in the world of TV, film and life.
And once the in-house program was let loose on iTunes, the audio podcast quickly grabbed the brass ring – the “new and notable” category.
Each week, seasoned pro Josh Mast guides his fellow nerds Erin Fusco and Joe Pivovarnik through a maze of stories, ranging from ten years of SpongeBob and a new Smurfs movie to rants and raves on the latest video games, iPhone apps, Pirate Bay (doomed if it goes legit, the nerds say) and HBO’s True Blood (a must-see for one nerd).
“Radio4Nerds grew out of another show we do on technology, The TechKnow Show,” said Zack Zeiler, CEO and president of VPI.Net. “The TechKnow Show is the place to go for news and reviews, but I could see there was room for a second show where three people could cover the flip side of technology in a fun and entertaining way. The podcast created such buzz in-house, it made sense to move it to the wider audience it could reach on iTunes,” he said.
