The Special Event Company Receives Two ISES Esprit Awards
Research Triangle Park, NC, August 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Sally Webb CSEP, managing director of The Special Event Company (www.specialeventco.com), a strategic event and meeting management company, has announced that the company received two ISES Esprit International Awards from the International Special Events Society, presented on Aug. 8 in San Francisco.
The company was honored in the category of Best Corporate Event over $200,000 for the State of North Carolina’s 32nd Annual Joint Meeting of the Southeast U.S./Japan Association, which was held in Raleigh in October 2008. Working with a theme of “Building Success through Harmony and Collaboration,” The Special Event Company planned 24 event components for the 550 attendees, five state governors and the Japanese ambassador. In addition to overseas travel coordination, translation services and diplomatic protocols, the five-day event involved extensive entertainment, including a specially produced performance of “Cultural Carolina,” the history of the state through song and dance, along with other performances from the N.C. Symphony, Nnenna Freelon and The Carolina Ballet with The Red Clay Ramblers.
Additionally, The Special Event Company won in the category of Best Event Entertainment Production $25,000 – $75,000 for The Fuqua School of Business Global Initiative event “Rethinking the Boundaries” Launch. The event was broadcast in Sept. 2008 to five countries and served as the official launch of the new Fuqua brand.
The Special Event Company was also nominated in the category of Best Entertainment Production over $75,000 for their work on the Cultural Carolina – Concert for The State of North Carolina.
