Tournament has raised over $50,000 for scholarships in past two years.

Raleigh, NC, August 28, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The 9th Annual K&W Food Guys Golf Tournament and Silent Auction was held on May 7-9th 2009 and was once again a huge success, raising a total of $23,000 for the North Carolina Hospitality Education Foundation (NCHEF). The NCHEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation that provides scholarships and grants for students who wish to enter culinary or hospitality programs at North Carolina colleges. The check was presented to Paul Stone, CEO of the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association, by Dax Allred and Todd Smith of K&W.

“The North Carolina Hospitality Education Foundation is extremely grateful for the Industry Partnership we have with K&W Cafeterias,” said NCHEF Education Director Alyssa Barkley. “The widely popular Food Guys Golf Tournament raises money for NC HEF’s scholarship and grant program, which allows us to drive our mission of building an educated, strong and committed workforce for the hospitality and tourism industry in NC.”

Held on the Wild Dunes Course at Myrtlewood Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, SC, the tournament is organized by Dax Allred, president of K & W Cafeterias. The tournament has contributed to the cause for the past four years.
