Steelhenge Delivers Successful Strategic Level Crisis Communications Course in London for Delegates from Key UAE Government Agency
On 15th-17th June 2009, three senior delegates from a key UAE government agency attended a strategic level course in crisis communications in London, delivered by Steelhenge Consulting.
London, United Kingdom, August 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Senior delegates from a senior United Arab Emirates government agency attended a strategic level course in crisis communications, delivered by Steelhenge Consulting in London. The three day course formed the beginning of a crisis communications training programme, following the success of Steelhenge's initial work with the UAE government organisation. For more information, visit www.steelhenge.co.uk or call 0845 094 2117.
The strategic level crisis communications course held in London was designed to ensure that the attending directors achieved a common understanding of strategic crisis communications planning and operations. This included a thorough exploration of the global crisis communications landscape and the potential challenges facing the UAE, and the validation of existing crisis communications and management plans. The course was also designed to enable the delegates to prepare themselves, and others, to manage the media effectively during and following crises.
"We're delighted with the success of this course, and the confidence that this key agency has in Steelhenge to help them restructure their crisis communications strategy for the entire organisation," commented Isobel Nicholas, Director of Marketing and Communications for Steelhenge. "The course is designed to provide a realistic experience of the pressures involved in managing the media during a crisis; delegates are always amazed by how intense the demands can be when they are faced with a TV camera or radio microphone."
"Providing delegates with the opportunity to practise their responses to simulated TV and radio interviews really helped them to understand the difficulties of performing well in an interview," Isobel explained. "The individual coaching given by our broadcast media experts ensured they were well rehearsed in getting their message across and as prepared as possible for a real crisis. The course also focused on the different needs and demands of international media, giving the delegates an opportunity to explore how they would manage the diversity of demands created by so many different cultures. This is so important in the world of instant communication that we live in now," Isobel concluded.
