Medora Sheehan Opens Turtle Rock Tutor to Mentor K-6 with Personalized Tutoring Service

Medora Sheehan, who has 24 years of extensive experience as a teacher for all grades from pre-first to fifth and in all academic subjects has opened Turtle Rock Tutor to cater to the individual needs of K-6 students.

Sarasota, FL, August 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Medora Sheehan, who has 24 years of teaching experience in both the public and private sectors, has opened Turtle Rock Tutor, a new one-on-one tutoring service that mentors K-6 graders in any academic subject. Her honed approach, which she affectionately refers to as her KINDLE method (an acronym for your Kid’s Interest Nurtured & Developed into Learning Enthusiasm) is to designed to encourage the child to take a deeper, more personal interest in the subject by building off their strengths and preferences.

Ms. Sheehan said “my philosophy is to uncover what sparks the child’s interest and then get the student’s classroom teacher, parents and me on the same page in order to provide the child with the consistent support they need to keep moving to the next level”.

Before moving to Florida, Ms. Sheehan taught in the public and private school systems of Maryland, Connecticut and North Carolina, where she had a successful tenure in every grade from pre-first to fifth. Among the subjects in which she has had considerable teaching experience are reading, math, English, social studies, science, spelling, as well as study/organization and time management skills.

Ms. Sheehan is an active caretaker and volunteer in the Sarasota community participating in numerous committees with the Church of the Redeemer, Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) , Turtle Rock Community and Kappa Kappa Gamma alumni. She holds a M.S. degree as a Reading Specialist from Johns Hopkins University and B.S. in Elementary Education from Hood College.
