NCDOT To Reduce Lanes On Walnut Street In Cary
The N.C. Department of Transportation has announced that it will temporarily reduce a section of Walnut Street in Cary to one lane in each direction between Kingston Ridge and Buck Jones Road daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 15, weather permitting.
Raleigh, NC, September 11, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The N.C. Department of Transportation has announced that it will temporarily reduce a section of Walnut Street in Cary to one lane in each direction between Kingston Ridge and Buck Jones Road daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 15, weather permitting. Also, additional night work may be performed nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The lane closures are necessary to resurface a section of Walnut Street. Motorists can expect delays in this area.
The U.S. 1/64 widening project is a $58 million project to improve U.S. 1/64 from south of the I-40 interchange to the U.S. 64/Tryon Road interchange in Cary. The project is anticipated to be complete in late 2006, weather permitting.
The NCDOT reminds motorists to stay alert, obey the posted speed limit of 55 mph, be aware of construction workers and watch signs for construction information. The fine for speeding in the work zone is $250 and violators may receive three driver license points.
