City Kidz World Magazine Offers More Than 14 Contests for the School Year
Edison, NJ, August 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- City Kidz World, a children’s educational, multicultural and international magazine, distributed in print across Central New Jersey and published online at www.citykidzworld.com, has announced more than 14 contests for the academic year for young people ages 3 to 21.
Publisher Melissa Edwards said, “In the last year City Kidz World has managed to draw participation from children all over New Jersey, the United States and across the world. We are amazed at how enthusiastic children are to create when given independent opportunities. We have received great contributions.”
The print magazine, a quarterly publication in its second year, is committed to bringing quality educational reading material to young people and getting them to write, read, and create independently. City Kidz World offers all types of prizes to participants ranging from participation certificates for every reader submitting entries, to baskets of school supplies, gift certificates, and scholarship money for students attending college.
As an expansion of the City Kidz World mission, the magazine will sponsor a high school writing camp this summer for two weeks.
Edwards said, “We have a deep commitment to giving children opportunities to learn. We understand that there are journalism programs in schools and we think that for the student who is captivated by that type of activity, a summer camp would be a great opportunity to learn more and work on an independent project.”
Although City Kidz World focuses primarily on young people as readers and writers, the magazine runs a free two-week online feature writing course for adults.
“City Kidz World has several sites and one is interactive. Many people involved with City Kidz World are writers and they want the opportunity to fellowship together as writers in a virtual environment,” Edwards said.
