K2 Implementations Take Home 2 of 3 BPM Awards at Annual ITWeb Event
Johannesburg, South Africa, August 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Customers of K2 workflow and business process management (BPM) software won two of the three awards presented at ITWeb’s BPM Summit & Excellence Awards 2009 ceremony Aug. 25.
The BPM Excellence Awards showcase and recognize the most successful BPM implementations in South Africa, across a range of industries and types.
Of six finalists, Medihelp and Vodacom each took home an Excellence Award for their K2 implementations. The Grand Prix Award for BPM Excellence went to software consultant group Ovations for their implementation at Zurich SA.
“We are honored by these awards and thrilled to see that our software is making such a meaningful impact in the operations of our customers,” said K2’s Eugene van Rensburg, VP for Africa/Middle East. “Companies like Medihelp and Vodacom understand the role technologies like K2 blackpearl and K2 blackpoint can play in efficiency, reduced costs and improved customer service.”
K2 tools help customers with simple needs, such as SharePoint workflow, and very complex needs, such as the automation of enterprise-class business processes.
K2 applications can be set up to automate and manage business processes — such as document approval or chronic medication requests — or pull together business processes, people, services, information and systems into a single application that helps drive business. Then, what’s been built can be used like building blocks to assemble new applications.
Medihelp’s managed healthcare solution, built by Datacentrix Solutions, is a Web-based workflow system that automates client processes, such as application and forms processing, claims administration, records management and customer request resolution. The solution dramatically improved customer service, and its success prompted Medihelp to open up all of the organization’s business processes to automation.
Vodacom called on Datacentrix, as well, to build a K2-based workflow system that automated processes for financial, marketing and billing departments. As users become familiar with the system, process-time improvements of 30 percent are typical.
The awards were sponsored by K2, IBM and MetaStorm. A panel of judges — independent experts “renowned for their years of experience” — choose nominees and winners based on the demonstration of a successful solution, the company’s process-centric culture and the level of ROI and benefits it realized.
