TRIAD Continues to be a Leader in Contributing to Green Retailing: the EPA’s Green Suppliers Network Welcomes TRIAD as a Partner
TRIAD Manufacturing in St Louis, MO becomes a partner in the Environmental Protection Agency's Green Suppliers Network, and their success story is posted on the GSN website, showing the retail industry their undying commitment to green retailing.
St Louis, MO, August 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In September of 2008, TRIAD embarked upon a technical review of operations to assess lean and clean initiatives of the facilities. Instead of focusing on one product or process line, TRIAD wanted to examine where environmental improvements could be made over the entire facility.
The review team prepared high-level value stream maps that captured the entire system, from raw materials entering the facility to finished products exiting. The review process identified two primary opportunities that TRIAD has since taken full advantage: improved energy efficiency and increased recycling of byproducts. TRIAD’s subsequent recycling of sawdust and scrap wood pallets alone eliminated a waste stream of 30,000 pounds annually. TRIAD also succeeded in reducing energy consumption after the review, making their production and office facilities more environmentally friendly and more in line with their green mission to provide eco-friendly store fixtures to major retailers.
Recently their success story was published and they are officially listed as a partner in the Green Suppliers Network, proving to the industry that the company takes green retailing seriously and continues to work hard at making improvements for their customers and the environment.
