Sonitrol Pacific Audio of Crashing, Voices Results in Arrest

Everett, WA, September 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The early morning detection of suspicious activity by Sonitrol Pacific audio security sensors allowed police to arrest four suspects at a Washington grade school August 23.

Operator Kris Etheridge received an activation at 4:06 a.m. from the Sonitrol Pacific security system installed in a portable classroom at the school and listened to real-time audio to analyze what was happening. She heard crashing noises, glass breaking and sounds of movement, and called police. While officers were en route to the school, Etheridge continued to monitor activity and let police know she heard voices and increasing movement.

Police located two suspected burglars immediately upon arriving at the school and found two more with the help of a police dog. All four suspects were arrested.

According to a representative from the school district, the four broke a window to get inside the portable classroom. A complete inventory will need to be taken to learn all that was taken. In their attempt to escape capture, the suspects left items scattered in the school’s field.
