Best Places to Work in Maine Selects Burgess Advertising & Marketing
Portland, Maine, based Burgess Advertising & Marketing has been named as one of the 2009 Best Places to Work in Maine.
Portland, ME, September 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Burgess Advertising & Marketing has been named as one of the 2009 Best Places to Work in Maine.
The "Best Places to Work in Maine" is a statewide survey and awards program designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. It is administered by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management and is endorsed by, among others, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, Best Companies Group, the Employment Times and Mainebiz.
The 2009 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 24 companies in the small/medium-sized list (15-249 employees) and 7 companies in the large-sized list (250+ employees).
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
Burgess CEO and founder Meredith Burgess said although it was a great honor for the company to be recognized by others as a great place to work, the real reward for her was having a staff that enjoyed "coming to work each day."
"It is my responsibility to provide a work environment that is as enjoyable, as safe and as beneficial as possible, but what all the accolades that come with being named as one of the best places to work in the State won't show adequately enough is that what really makes Burgess a great place to work is the staff - each and everyone of them with their own unique talents, personalities, and their ability to get along with each other no matter what the stress levels are, and produce work which they can be proud of and which I definitely am proud of, and which of course benefits our clients," she said.
