TiE Midwest 20 Industry Awards

Farmington Hills, MI, September 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Detroit chapter of TiE, also known as Talent, Ideas, Enterprise, is pleased to announce its inaugural TiE Midwest 20 Industry Awards at its TiECon Midwest annual conference to be held at Ritz-Carlton Dearborn, October 23 and 24, 2009. TiE is seeking inventions or products demonstrating innovation, commercialization, success, and be a value to society, for nominations to the elite TiE Midwest 20 Industry Awards. The deadline for nominations is September 21, 2009.

"TiE20 will be a great opportunity for all entrepreneurs aspiring to become tomorrow’s stars. We hope this is a first step towards identifying the rising stars in the Midwest and revive the entrepreneurial spirit in the region", said Tel Ganesan, President, TiE Detroit Chapter.

TiECon Midwest 2009 is an entrepreneurial conference, attracting hundreds of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and other professionals. TiE Midwest 20 Industry Awards acknowledges excellence among 20 Startup and Emerging companies within five industry tracks including: Software, Wireless, Cleantech, Media and Life Sciences.

TiE20 finalists will be selected by a combination of public opinion polls and an experienced panel of industry judges. Voting is open to the public beginning Thursday, October 1, 2009 and closes on Friday, October 09, 2009. In addition to the results of the public poll, the finalist companies will be judged on their product or service, market size and dynamics, leadership team, business model and progress since founding. The winning companies will be announced on October 12, 2009.

TiE20 winners will be honored with awards of excellence in front of several well established entrepreneurs, Venture Capitalists, industry experts and other business professionals on Friday, October 23 at Ritz-Carlton Dearborn. Additionally, the TiE20 winners will present their companies in a live showcase at the conference and receive special invitations to PowerConnect premium networking sessions at TiECon. They will also be a part of the ongoing recognition from TiE Detroit.
