Sports and Motion Bring Home International Awards for a Local Video Services Business Owner

Eagan, MN, September 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Home Video Studio™ – Eagan recently won 2 Hanley awards at the 9th annual Home Video Studio™ (HVS) Getaway in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Hanley Awards are HVS’ version of the Oscars, which recognize achievement in the movie industry. Home Video Studio™ is the largest international video production services franchise with studios located in the United States, Canada and Sweden.

Studio owner Kirk Douglas submitted his video work in (14) of the 33 Hanley award categories and received 6 nominations which placed his work in the top 3 of six categories. Studio owners from across the world entered to win Best Video Production, Best Documentary, and Best of Show to name a few types of honors. The Hanley’s, named after Robert Hanley, the founder and president of Home Video Studio™, are in recognition of a studio owner’s work during the past year.

Home Video Studio™ – Eagan won the top award for its work in the Best Sports Scholarship Video and Best Use of Motion categories. “An important part of our business is to help student-athletes get into and finance their college education. The Sports Scholarship video was created for a local student-athlete hoping to get noticed by college recruiters so that they could continue their volleyball career,” says Kirk Douglas, Home Video Studio™ owner. “I really enjoy it when I receive a customer call or email saying they received an offer from the school of their choice! What a thrill.”

The entry for Best Use of Motion refers to a project using Apple Computer’s Motion product. Kirk utilized this tool when creating special effects and graphics for a recent episode for the Women of the Wild Outdoors TV program.

In addition to being an honored guest at the gala black-tie Hanley Awards ceremony, Kirk participated in video production and post production training in lighting, audio, camera techniques and video editing at the Home Video Studio™ Getaway convention. These studio owners use Apple’s Final Cut Pro™ and DVD Studio Pro™ along with other video and graphic software programs to ensure the highest quality of work performed. This is the same technology utilized in the making of Hollywood movies and network television shows.
