"Different" Podcast Network Hits the Web
Three guys in Philadelphia are poised to turn the digital media revolution on its head.
Chester, PA, September 14, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Drew Olanoff, Adam Plante and Paul Fleming - the hosts of the popular audio and video podcast, The Best Damn Tech Show Period (BDTSP) - have just announced the Internet's most unique network of podcast programming called POLARiTV.
Run like a TV studio a la NBC and ABC, POLARiTV will have a program schedule for their shows. But unlike those studios, the shows are produced and run by average people. The talent and the audience can be one in the same and share in the experience together.
"The Digital Revolution is upon us," says Drew Olanoff, the brainchild behind BDTSP as well as YouTube.com sensations like scriggity. "Current networks treat audiences like numbers, POLARiTV will treat audiences like people."
As video and audio podcasts became increasingly popular, Olanoff, Plante and Fleming saw a need for a central source that would allow people to follow their favorite online broadcasts. POLARiTV "fills this void and gives entertainment fans a totally new and totally revolutionary outlet," Olanoff says.
Podcasts such as BDTSP, scriggity, No Comprendo and the Roadie Show are already slated for the upcoming schedule. More shows will be added soon.
And these three guys in Philadelphia aren't just adding to the Web 2.0 phenomenon; they are avid participants in it.
"We will be chronicling the preparation behind programming a new digital media revolution and launch that as its own podcast," promises Plante. "And we will be approachable and request feedback from anyone and everyone. This wouldn't be happening without podcasting fans, so we want to hear from them as much as possible."
POLARiTV will leverage Pluggd's (http://www.pluggd.com) platform to provide an enhanced experience to it's audience. Pluggd is presenting at the DEMOFall conference, the premiere showcase for the technologies of tomorrow that has seen the launch of such technologies as the Palm Pilot, Tivo, and Java.
As for the name, explains Fleming, "POLARiTV is a play on words. It means polarity, but with the evolution of regular television into iTV, it also means cool TV, programming opposite from the norm."
Thus explains the slogan. POLARiTV - The Same Thing, Only Different.
A launch date has not been announced as of yet, but production is underway at http://www.POLARiTV.com
