The Workforce Development Center of Holmes Community College, Ridgeland, and the South Central Mississippi chapter of APICS: The Association for Operations Management, will offer the APICS supply chain management course series. The series targets supply chain operations management professionals and those desiring to become certified in inventory and production management (CPIM).
Ridgeland, MS, September 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Workforce Development Center of Holmes Community College, Ridgeland, and the South Central Mississippi chapter of APICS: The Association for Operations Management, are pleased to partner again this year to offer the APICS supply chain management course series. The series consists of five courses targeted both to operations professionals who wish to further their knowledge, and to those who wish to meet the requirements to become certified in inventory and production management (CPIM). Courses are 3 days each and held on consecutive Fridays.
· Basics of Supply Chain Management: September 11th, 18th, 25th
· Master Planning of Resources: October 9th, 16th, 23rd
· Detailed Scheduling and Planning: October 30, November 6, 13th
· Execution and Control of Operations: December 11, 18 and January 8th, 2010
· Strategic Management of Resources: January 15, 22, 29th, 2010
The classes will be led by David Carter, CPIM, CPA, CMA, President of Madison based True North Consulting and APICS chapter president. As a past Toyota Vice President, David has over 18 years of director level supply chain experience in tier one automotive and aerospace companies. He started up Toyota's first parts remanufacturing plant as Vice President of Actis Manufacturing. As Materials Director at Bosch’s largest North American plant, he led a complete Lean transformation. Heading the supply chain function at Eaton Aerospace's lead plant he co-led the division’s supply chain improvement initiatives. As part of a 13 year progression in $300M Japanese owned Sanden International, he served as Materials Director and Business Process Director. David began his career in Finance and believes his this helps him engage all business stakeholders. He has bachelors degrees in Accounting and Marketing, is a CPA, a Certified Management Accountant and Certified in Production and Inventory Control.
APICS: the Association for Operations Management, is the global leader and premier source of the body of knowledge in operations management, including production, inventory, supply chain, materials management, purchasing, and logistics. Since 1957, individuals and companies have relied on APICS for its superior training and internationally recognized certifications.
Cost: $525 per course ($475 for APICS members). Cost includes APICS student workbook.
Class Times: 8: 30AM to 4: 30PM - 24 CEUs per course
