Nolcha Fashion Week Prepares for Packed House Supporting Global Independent Fashion Designers
New York Fashion Week Initiative Showcases Emerging American and International Fashion Designers via runway shows, accessory exhibition and ethical fashion preview.
New York, NY, September 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Nolcha Fashion Week: New York prepares to showcase over 50 American and International independent fashion designers who will exhibit their Spring/Summer 2010 Collections via runway shows and exhibitions during September 14th – 18th 2009.
A key feature this season is fashion from St Vincent’s and the Grenadine’s. Invest SVG, through assistance from the European Union (EU), who is committed to the development and promotion of the Fashion Industry in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be sponsoring independent fashion designers Tami B, Shernicia, Kimmystic.clo and Soka.
The runway shows, based at the Bohemian National Hall, continue to welcome a diverse range of talent from around the globe with collections ranging from Anaessia, KabukiU and Pizzuto from Australia, Jessica Joyce from the Netherlands, Canadian brand Sodalicious, Columbian designer Afanador and European brands Agnes Valentine, Christina Crawford, Dora Abodi, Sado, Siskova and Quiet Riot. Closer to home are American based designers 43.46 aggaj, emeDesigns, Elda De La Rosa, MinnaK , Rock Hard Atelier and Nadia Nour.
This season includes two collective runway shows each featuring a group of designers exhibiting ten looks each. The Capsule Collective runway show is an international selection of six independent fashion designers that focus on unique basics and innovative fabrics for the consumer that wants to supplement their wardrobe with new fresh designer labels. The Luxe Collective runway show will introduce brands that suit the lifestyle of affluent and influential consumers. Special Occasion fashion will play a large part in the presentation including Avante Garde mastery and sassy swimwear, all under the same standards of fit, fabric and finishing.
The Accessory Lounge, located at the Bohemian National Hall, is the home for select jewelry, shoe and handbag designers to come together under one roof to adorn the masses with unique eclectic pieces; providing a diverse mix of talent from bold and exotic, to classic and quaint. Designers include BettyLou Jewels, Eenamaria, Gida Bavari, Joann Huth Collection, Marijoli, Maleku, selve, Schander and Shamila.
New to this year’s schedule of events is the Ethical Fashion Preview, supported by Aveda, Bel Esprit, EDUN LIVE, Clarins Skin Spa and Rae Cosmetics, at the Carlton Hotel on Monday, September 14, 2009. This event will spotlight fashion designers who create collections using environmentally friendly materials and processes, and manufacture their collections respecting fair trade and fair wage principles.
