Call for Entries in Property Care Awards

Staffordshire, United Kingdom, September 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Judges are looking for excellence in the fields of innovation, sustainability and training in the Property Care Association (PCA) annual awards programme.

Members of the PCA – which represents the UK’s structural waterproofing, wood preservation, damp-proofing, flood remediation and structural maintenance sectors – are being urged to prepare their entries now in time for the January 2010 deadline.

An independent panel will judge the awards – consisting of Peter Darling, a freelance technical journalist, Ian Davis, Operations Director of the National House-Building Council, and Paul Handy, Director of Charles Taylor Adjusting.

Now in their second year, the awards are exclusively open to members of the PCA, which incorporates the British Wood Preserving and Damp-Proofing Association (BWPDA). PCA contractor, consultant, surveyor and manufacturer members are all urged to take part.

There are three categories covering innovation, sustainability and training.

Yasmin Chopin, executive director of the PCA, said: “The awards celebrate the professionalism and technical expertise of PCA members.

“Last year, category winners enjoyed extensive publicity and it is a great opportunity to put member’s businesses on the map.”

The PCA has developed a form with full details of how to enter – and the entry deadline is 15 January, 2010. To receive the document contact eleana@property-care.org or telephone 0870 121 6737.

The awards will be presented at a special evening ceremony, to take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground, in St John’s Wood, London on 26 March 2010.

Notes To Editors

Noted for its training and technical expertise, The Property Care Association (PCA) represents the UK’s structural waterproofing, wood preservation, damp-proofing, flood remediation and structural repair sectors.

It incorporates the British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association (BWPDA), which has been in formation for more than 75 years.

The PCA is a member of TrustMark the scheme supported by the Government, to help property owners find reliable and trustworthy tradespeople to make home improvements.

Its contractor members are all carefully vetted before being awarded membership - and are then subject to rigorous auditing procedures once admitted to the Association.

As well as delivering a trusted repair procedure, PCA members are able to carry out specialist surveys as part of the house-buying procedure to identify potential problems – as well as a range of other services designed to preserve and protect homes and buildings across the UK.
