Date Announced for McHenry, IL Community Walk for Breast Cancer

McHenry, IL, September 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The 2009 date has been announced for the third annual McHenry Community Walk for Breast Cancer. The Walk will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, with registration opening at 9:00am and the Walk starting at 10:00am.

The Walk will begin (and end) at the gazebo in Fort McHenry Park, located just off Route 120 at the Whispering Oaks entrance and will wind through the Whispering Oaks subdivision. Totaling a distance of three miles, walkers are encouraged but not required to complete the entire route.

This Community Walk is part of a two city, two sister effort to raise money for breast cancer research. Organized by McHenry resident Ange Powell, and her sister-in law, Colby, WI resident Terri Powell, a second walk will take place in Colby on May 1, 2010. All proceeds from both walks are donated to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
