Frankie's Neighborhood Restaurant Opens in Dover Tuesday

Dover, DE, September 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dover Downs Hotel & Casino opened a new Italian restaurant called Frankie’s on September 1. The restaurant is located in The Colonnade and serves authentic Italian specialties at affordable prices in a casual, friendly atmosphere.

Frankie’s serves homemade pastas and sauces with tender veal, chicken, chops, filet mignon, seafood, sausage, meatballs and more. Menu selections are priced conservatively with classic Italian varieties of appetizers and desserts starting at only $2.95 and 10” brick oven pizza priced lower than $10. The wine list is extensive yet competitively priced like a bottle of Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio for less than $27. Family-style portions for four start at $16.95, and desserts including homemade, jumbo cannoli start at a nominal $2.95.

“Frankie’s is so much more than your average Italian restaurant,” said George Fiorile, vice president and general manager of Hotel Operations. “We do offer great, authentic Italian dishes, and we have also created a niche atmosphere reminiscent of friendly neighborhood grottos. We want friends to hang out at Frankie’s wine bar on Sundays to watch football and enjoy a delicious brick oven pizza then come back during the week for a great bottle of wine and fantastic plate of lasagna.”

The restaurant offers several dining options from open “al fresco-style” veranda seating to a unique communal food/wine bar, and a private room with TV suitable for business meetings or special celebrations.
