Colonial Heritage Establishes Community Foundation to Support Charitable Programs
Lennar established the Colonial Heritage Community Foundation to support charitable causes and neighborhood efforts within Colonial Heritage and the surrounding area.
Williamsburg, VA, September 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Colonial Heritage, Lennar’s active adult community in James City County recently established the Colonial Heritage Community Foundation (CHCF) to support charitable causes and neighborhood efforts within Colonial Heritage and the surrounding area.
Joan Bender, Colonial Heritage resident and founder of the Colonial Heritage Neighbor To Neighbor Program and Alzheimer Caregivers Support Group said the CHCF is critical to the community’s future programs.
“We are very excited about the development, implementation and future of the Colonial Heritage Community Foundation and grateful to Lennar for helping to support it,” said Joan Bender. “The CHCF plays a pivotal role to build community and enrich the quality of life for all residents. The Foundation’s age-friendly philosophy will designate and sponsor programs that provide the information, access and motivation people need to become and stay active.”
In addition to financially supporting humanitarian groups such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Senior Services Coalition and Neighbor To Neighbor, the Foundation also promotes intergenerational community programs to demonstrate that all individuals can participate in life as fully as possible.
“Evaluation and measurement tools enable the programs to adapt and grow in ways that are evidence-based and help individuals. Areas such as the economic contributions and challenges of family care giving responsibilities are supported with innovative approaches,” Bender said.
