Haven Gastropub Welcomes Executive Chef Greg Daniels
Executive Chef Brings Culinary Buzz to Old Towne Orange.
Orange, CA, September 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Haven Gastropub in Old Towne Orange is proud to officially welcome Executive Chef Greg Daniels. Having recently opened its doors on September 4, Haven’s unique menu takes pub grub to a whole new level.
A Southern California native, Daniels graduated from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, CA and has had the privilege of working with Master Chef Pascal Olhats of Pascal’s in Newport Beach. He also draws from a diverse pallet of food and beverage experience, which includes line cook at Napa Rose in Anaheim; consulting mixologist for wine and spirit specialists, Brown-Forman Corporation; head bartender at Mesa, Costa Mesa; and bar manager at Heat Ultra Lounge, Anaheim.
“Greg is an integral part of Haven, our culinary cornerstone,” says Haven co-owner and managing partner Jeff Hall. “We are pleased to have him as a part of the executive team.” As much as he loves running the kitchen Daniels will be a friendly and familiar face interacting and mingling with diners. “I enjoy the interaction with our guests,” says Daniels. “We consider everyone family and I want to make them feel at home.”
In the tradition of the gastropubs of London, Haven offers an extraordinary cultural dining experience for foodies and pub-crawlers alike. The menu, which consists of a blend of English, Irish and Scottish old world fare, offers a modern twist on traditional favorites from Burgers and Fish & Chips to Grilled Jumbo Prawns and pan seared Hanger Steak.
With each delicious dish, Daniels’ philosophy is one of simplicity. The key, he says, is to combine quality, farm-to-table fresh ingredients to bring out the natural flavors of the food – a simple, old world concept Daniels executes on every level. He prides himself on making everything from scratch, from corned beef to ketchup (Haven’s own). Daniels’ favorite dish is Haven’s braised Bone-In Short Ribs, using a Firestone Union Jack IPA reduction, roasted garlic-carrot puree.
From appetizers to entrées, each menu item can be wonderfully paired with Haven’s 14 handcrafted beers on tap, boutique wines and select spirits. The setting is also one of comfort, offering cozy surrounds with intimate candle lighting, cobblestone, wrought iron and rich, dark woods.
