Single Parents Create: Author Publishes Book… Despite Lack of Qualifications
West Bromwich, United Kingdom, September 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- British author Stephen Mark Parry (Pen-name Suzanne Marcuslee) has astounded his peers by writing his first book despite being a single parent with no formal qualifications and living on welfare benefits before publishing it on Lulu.com, the online marketplace for digital content.
Mr. Parry seized the opportunity to use his spare time whilst raising his 3 children by writing his 206-page poetry book “Twilight Tears & Memories” originally on his old portable typewriter and eventually on his computer.
Cristel Lee Leed, Lulu Vice President for Europe, comments: “We live in an age when individuals are strapped for time due to work and family commitments, and this can often stifle creativity. Mr. Parry is a great example of the type of author we often encounter on Lulu – he has not only been creative with what he has written but also with how he has written it!”
Having converted his life’s experiences into poetic verse and collating them in a folder, Mr. Parry would then copy-type them to his home PC for proofreading and editing. The book took him 13 years to write. Mr. Parry says: “Only a few years ago I would have struggled to find both the time and the publisher to enable me to create this book. Thanks to my perseverance and Lulu I am now proud to be a published author.”
“Twilight Tears & Memories” a collage of emotions powerfully composed highlighting how life can be cruel, rewarding and yet sometimes fulfilling. Allowing the reader to experience the sorrow, heartbreak, joy, love and pain endured by those less fortunate than ourselves around the World.
Lest we should ever forget:
Lady Diana, Aberfan, Dunblane, Jamie Bulger, Columbine High School and Hungerford.
Now poetically remembered for an eternity.
Stephen Mark Parry is 52 years old and has lived all his life in West Bromwich, United Kingdom. He has no academic qualifications but was raised in a religious family that read the bible daily. He started writing poetry in his later life and has been rewarded for his poetic thoughts with letters of appreciation from: Ex President Clinton, The Prime Ministers of Australia & New Zealand and The British Royal Household. He has read his poetry on BBC Radio WM to 3 million listeners in 1998 to great reviews and has had several poems published in anthologies by Forward Press, Anchor Books, The Poetry Guild and The International Library of Poetry.
