Oxnard, CA, September 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- National Fight Alliance Mixed Martial Arts (NFAMMA) along with Hyatt Westlake Plaza have joined forces again to present MMA at the Hyatt 3: REDEMPTION on October 16, 2009. Sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission. This event will showcase Professional Mixed Martial Artist's from Ventura County and beyond. The bouts will be featured live on KADYTV.com through iBN Sports. NFAMMA Promoter Rene Carranco states that they will feature 8 professional bouts including the return of defending 805 Pride Welterweight Champion, Anthony "El Cucuy" Ferguson. This event is sure to sell out.
With Mixed Martial Art's being the fastest growing sport in the country, it involves competitors using various interdisciplinary fighting styles; including jiu-jitsu, muay thai, wrestling, judo, boxing, kickboxing and karate in a highly controlled fight with the winner decided by KO, submission, judges decision or referee stoppage.
The event highlight's will include giveaway's from Dojo Fightgear, along with a presentation to Honorary Guest's to be awarded for their achievement's in professional combat. The recipient's of the award's are Professional Mixed Martial Art's pioneer and undefeated UFC Champion, Bas "El Guapo" Rutten and Professional Boxing Champion and local 805 hero, Fernando "El Feroz" Vargas. Also, Westlake Hyatt Plaza is proud to announce that they will host the official after-party at their new bar, Knuckles, located inside the Hyatt Westlake Plaza.
