Goodhue, MN, September 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Minnesota Cooperative is recognized again for its delicious grass-fed butter.

At the American Cheese Society’s August competition, industry judges called PastureLand’s Summer Gold cultured butter “lovely” and “complex.” The judges awarded two ribbons to PastureLand’s family of Summer Gold butters, recognizing the Southeastern Minnesota family farm cooperative for making a “great summer butter” with exceptional yellow color and complex flavors.

PastureLand farmers Dennis and Rhonda Stelling said, “We are very pleased to be recognized again by the American Cheese Society judges for our Summer Gold butters.” Dennis’ dad Ralph, a PastureLand founding farmer remembers butter being delivered from the creamery on the milk hauler’s truck, and says “this is how butter used to taste!”

Many have already delighted in the “now that’s how it’s supposed to taste” flavors of grass-fed dairy. Word is getting out that the unique farms that produce these traditional foods employ some of the lowest impact practices in farming. Pasture-based farms build soil vitality, support wildlife, and improve the health of local watersheds. New research is pointing to direct health benefits from eating grass-fed dairy products. Pastured dairy and cheese naturally provide a beneficial balance of Essential Fatty Acids – and vitamins A, C, and E – than are found in conventional dairy foods.

PastureLand is a Minnesota family-farm cooperative of certified organic (MOSA), grass-based dairy farms. The members take pride in their ability to provide the high quality pasture necessary for grazing dairy herds to produce healthful milk and cream without having to supplement the cows’ diet with corn or soybeans. No grain, and no confinement farming. When nature does something this right, you can taste it.
