The Gallery Group at The Art Institute of Jacksonville Presents Point of View Exhibition
Six Distinguished Photographers Display Work at The Art Institute of Jacksonville.
Jacksonville, FL, September 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Gallery Group at The Art Institute of Jacksonville will host the opening reception for the Point of View Exhibition on Thursday October 8, 2009 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
The Gallery Group is a focus group of graphic design and interactive media students responsible for curating, installing and advertising exhibitions throughout the school year. Students develop a concept, research artists and curate each exhibition with the intention of further defining the relationship between “fine art” and design.
The six eminent photographers displaying their work include Jeanne Ciasullo, Garry McElwee, Walker Coker, Natalie McCray, Laura Evans and Eric Staniford.
“The Point of View Exhibition will display a survey of commercial photography including fashion, surf and skate, real estate and weddings. Each will represent a variety of genres spanning different disciplines and formats,” said Tonya Lee, faculty member and Director of the Gallery Group. Lee added, “The work will vary from poster size to 11 by 14 black and white, traditional to experimental.”
The opening reception will include light refreshments and an opportunity for the students and community to speak with each artist one on one about their work and the creative process behind each of their pieces.
The work will be displayed in The Art Institute of Jacksonville Gallery from October 8, 2009 through December 2, 2009. The Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 8 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM until 4 PM.
