Getting Through to Difficult People Discussed in Upcoming Presentation October 7

Professional coaching organization hosts presentation from Dr. Mark Goulston on cracking the communication code

Santa Monica, CA, September 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Business leaders, consultants and coaches will learn what it really takes to get through to difficult people in a presentation hosted by the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association. Presenter, Dr. Mark Goulston, psychiatrist, coach and author, will help attendees learn how listening and receiving information helps break through communication barriers.

The presentation will be held at the monthly meeting of Professional Coaches and Mentors Association of Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 5:30 pm at the Doubletree Hotel, 1707 Fourth St. Santa Monica, CA. The meeting is open to the public.

Participants will hear Dr. Mark Goulston’s insights from his recently released book Just Listen: Discover the Secret to Getting Through to Absolutely Anyone and learn what it takes to:

· Create a powerful and positive first impression with anyone you meet
· Learn how to listen to yourself and identify your internal reactions, while understanding how the other person is feeling
· Enhance effective listening skills to make a potential client, or even a stranger, feel heard
· Understand how to use language to move an angry person away from an instinctual, unproductive reaction and toward a rational mindset
· Develop skills to achieve buy-in, the linchpin of successful persuasion
