Supermarkets Making Poor Progress Towards Website Usability
Oxford, United Kingdom, September 21, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Many of Britain's major supermarket chains suffer when it comes to website usability, according to a report.
In a survey of the top five food retailers' websites, AbilityNet found that Tesco was the only firm to exceed minimum accessibility standards and the only site to be easily accessed by users with a visual impairment, a physical disability which prevents easy mouse use, or dyslexia.
Morrison’s information only site received a satisfactory three star rating, but the sites of Sainsbury’s, Asda and Somerfield showed no change since AbilityNet's last survey in 2004.
