Canberra Institute of Technology Select EQUELLA to Power New Integrated Elearning Solution
Hobart, Australia, September 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Learning Edge International (TLEI) today announces that Canberra Institute of Technology have selected leading Digital Repository EQUELLA, as an integral component of eLearn, their new eLearning solution designed to enhance institutional Teaching and Learning capabilities.
Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is the ACT and region’s leading training organisation providing career opportunities and partnering with industry and individuals to develop a skilled community. eLearn will enable students, staff and other CIT users to access all educational services and systems across all CIT campuses, at their workplaces, through public internet access points, and in their homes. CIT’s vision for eLearn is a single seamless solution, rather than a collection of disparate software products. eLearn incorporates EQUELLA as the central content repository, Moodle as the learning environment, and Wimba for the Virtual Collaboration tool.
CIT and TLEI are working closely with long-term EQUELLA partner NetSpot, which is also a Moodle and Wimba certified provider, to ensure a seamless rollout of the three systems. This is reflected in the unified content conversion strategy, training plan, and change management plan. Reflecting eLearn’s scope and impact across the entire Institute, the project is jointly managed by the Centre for Education Excellence and the Learning Centre.
Central to CIT’s approach is providing a robust teaching and learning environment while minimising the impact on busy teaching staff. To ease the transition to eLearn the team has developed tools that migrate content from the legacy WebCT system into EQUELLA for use inside the Moodle courses.
