New Catalog Reflects Customer Communication
Fremont, OH, September 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Crown Mats and Matting has just introduced a new product catalog that is largely based on customer comments and feedback.
The update, which is more extensive than previous catalogs, is also the company’s first new catalog in nearly three years.
Many building and cleaning professionals find that selecting a matting system can be confusing. This is because the matting industry has its own lingo.
For instance, terms such as these are commonly used in the industry:
· High-performance mats
· Wiper mats
· Wiper/scraper mats
· Recessed wells
· Ergonomic mats
· Image mats
· Eco mats
“Our customers told us these terms really do not help them select a matting system for their facilities,” says Christopher Tricozzi, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Crown Mats and Matting. “They want something that helps them separate mats into groups based on how they [the customer] can use them.”
With this in mind, the new Crown catalog categorizes mats into four distinct “collections” depending on how, why and where they are used. The four collections are:
· The "Performance" collection. This category includes mats that are intended for heavy foot traffic (over 5,000 people per day).
· The "Prestige" collection. "Prestige" mats are intended for medium to heavy foot traffic (less than 5,000 people per day).
· The "Classic" collection. This collection includes mats that are designed for light to medium foot traffic.
· The "Value" collection. Mats that are intended for areas that receive only very light foot traffic are included in this category.
Tricozzi adds that there are some matting systems--usually specialty mats--which do not conveniently fit into the above categories. “However, by far the bulk of our products fit into these categories, which is good for the entire matting industry,” says Tricozzi. "It helps people understand how mats can be used and the value of a matting system. It always surprises me how many building professionals still do not appreciate the role mats play in keeping facilities safe, clean and healthy.”
