British Author Alex Shaw has marked his literary debut by writing ‘Hetman’, the first International Thriller based in post ‘Orange Revolution’ Ukraine.

‘Hetman’ is a Special Forces Thriller and introduces a reluctant hero, former SAS Trooper turned expatriate teacher Aidan Snow.

‘Hetman’ draws heavily from Shaw’s own experience as an expatriate living in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Hetman focuses on Aidan Snow as his new life as a teacher is torn apart by the arrival of someone, supposedly dead, from his past. Snow is attacked by an unknown adversary, framed for two high profile assassinations and is hunted by the Ukrainian Security Service. Snow is forced to rely on his SAS training in an attempt to clear his name and protect those he cares about.

Hetman is highly detailed in it’s description of Kyiv and it’s inhabitants. Snow has used real places and events from his own experience interwoven with the fictitious for powerful dramatic effect. Snow’s attention to detail and research has resulted in a breathtaking debut novel.
