Erie Art Museum’s 'The Sacred and Sensuous' Exhibit Hits the Road
Erie, PA, September 21, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The Erie Art Museum is preparing its "The Sacred and Sensuous" exhibit for traveling exhibition to the Tall Grass Arts Association in Chicago, Il. from Oct. 20- Jan. 3 and the Lancaster Museum of Art from March 2-April 1.
The exhibit, consisting of Indian bronze figurines from the 11th to 19th centuries, was originally curated by Erie Art Museum Executive Director John Vanco and has not been seen by the public since its debut at the Erie Art Museum in 1987. The 100-piece collection is valued at over $1 million and is part of the Erie Art Museum’s 5,600 piece permanent collection; it was received by the Erie Art Museum as part of the James D. Baldwin bequest.
