IES, Ltd. Gearing Up for 3 Back-to-Back Top-Industry Events
Logistics and Transportation Software provider IES, Ltd., is prepares to attend three major, back-to-back industry events: FTDC, WESCCON and IE Canada.
Midland Park, NJ, October 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The first event, FTDC, will take place from October 4-7 at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, California. Thomas Zinner, IES’s Director of Supply Chain Software and Strategies, will be speaking along with Max Kantzer of the Transmodal Corporation and Charlie Kantz, Vice President of Logistics and Warehousing at Bakers Footwear Group. The Panel session is titled, “DC Bypass and Over Packing in China, Reduced Transit Time and Reduced Cost to Store Door” and is scheduled for 9:30am on October 6th. The conference brings top logistics executives from footwear retailers and brands together with transportation and distribution executives from around the world. The event is broken up into two segments focusing on traffic and customs.
The award-winning trio of speakers will discuss how goods may be allocated while on route, “… up to the time that the container arrives in a US port.” The panel will also explain a new optimization process at origin-- taking smaller cartons bound for one store and “over pack” them into one larger carton, saving domestic transportation dollars. This process utilizes the MagicLogic Cube-IQ engine that provides unparalleled volume utilization to streamline the packaging process and take the guess work out of deciding what would fit best in what over pack. Additionally, the discussion will analyze “what it took for Bakers to get to this point” from a technological standpoint using IES software.
The next event chronologically is WESCCON, the Western Cargo Conference, presented by the PCC (Pacific Coast Council of Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders Associations, Inc.) The event is now in its 29th year and features workshops, panels, roundtable discussions and town hall meetings on timely topics. In attendance will be industry veteran Kevin Gavin, IES’s Vice President of Supply Chain Management as well as Bill Garrison of the IES Sales Department. Visit IES in Booth 8 at WESCCON at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort outside of Palm Springs, California from October 8-11.
IES will next travel to the 78th Annual I.E. Canada Conference Trade Show from October 19-21 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This will be IES’s inaugural visit at the long-running event, manning a booth at the Delta Meadowvale Conference Centre. The three-day conference features keynote speakers, plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, workshops, panels, case studies and more. The event will focus on the increased importance of security and compliance in the supply chain. In particular, there will be a detailed analysis of the rigorous new Canadian and U.S. government policies and how to gain a competitive advantage through compliance. In addition, I.E. Canada’s new CATIE Awards will be featured at the end of the first day and will highlight the ‘best of the best’ in international trade and customs.
