Montgomery, author of the world-wide phenomenon children’s interactive book series “Choose Your Own Adventure,” entertained a throng of young readers and their parents as he read from title #1 in the series The Abominable Snowman at the Second Annual Burlington Book Festival this weekend.
Chooseco, publishers of the Choose Your Own Adventure book series, teamed up with local area businesses to sponsor the three-day event that featured Vermont writers and other champions of the Vermont publishing industry.
“What wonderful kids!” says Montgomery, co-founder of Chooseco. “They were so full of energy and alive to the work. Connecting with the reader always gives me a thrill. And many parents were original fans themselves.”
Initially published in 1979 and now republished by Chooseco, Choose Your Own Adventure is a well-loved children’s book series for grades 4 through 7. Each book makes the reader the hero as they select the path of the story.
