Direget.com Teams Up with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute

The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute was started in memory of Barbara Ann Karmanos. It is the only cancer center to date that is named after a woman. The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is on of the larges cancer institutes in the United States providing care to more then 6,000 new patients annually. The love and dedication provided by this facility is truly something to behold. The Cancer institute was founded in 1995 when Peter Karmanos donated $15 million dollars to cancer research in honor of the life his wife lived.

Barbara Ann Karmanos was a high spirited and down to earth person with a big heart. She believed fighting cancer meant living your life and enjoying each day we are blessed with.
