Barcelona, Spain, October 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Healthcare technology is increasingly focusing on protecting the environment. Currently, reducing the environmental impact of this technology is one of the priorities for healthcare managers, clinics and the sector's industry. Nonetheless, experts stress that important efforts are still needed to establish plans for equipment, investment, renewal and replacement, and the necessary security plans in hospitals.
Thus, the aim of the conference is to publicise the advances made to protect the environment in the Spanish national health system's hospitals, the current state of protection of the environment from the undesired effects of healthcare technology and the UOC's new master's degree in Healthcare Technology Planning and Management.
According to the Director of the UOC's Health Sciences Area, José Esteban, “this conference represents a critical review of the adaptation of healthcare technology to the environment and the strengthening of its role as a motor for technical efficacy and environmental efficiency .”
Speakers
The meeting will be attended by the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board to the UOC's Healthcare Technology Planning and Management programme and professor at the Institute of Healthcare Technology at Germany's University of Gießen, Werner Trampisch. Likewise, UOC faulty members José Fereres, Pedro Izquierdo and Georgina Vidal are also to take part in the meeting.
