9 Year Old Girl Urges Peers to Avoid Temptations of Adolescent Life
Alya Nuri is a 9 year old girl who is the author of the series "Things Every Kid Should Know-Smoking, Drugs & Alcohol". Her mission is to bring awareness amongst kids of her own age as well as older ones to avoid this stuff and live a healthy life.
Fishers, IN, October 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Author Alya Nuri - inspired by her mother who is an author, speaker and business coach - started writing when she was just 7 years old and became an author at the age of 8.
At just 9 years old Alya has already read more than 1400 books, written 3 articles and a series of three books on “Things Every Kid Should Know”; Smoking, Alcohol and Drugs.
Alya Nuri wants to help her peers understand the dangers of things they’ll most likely be tempted with in the near future.
Alya is finishing her 5th grade through the home schooling system. She loves to read, paint, participate in various sports, as well as swim. She wants to continue with her passion of writing and public speaking to raise awareness among the youth of these dangerous substances. It is also Alya’s ambition to become a Veterinarian in the future.
At the age of 9, this young author hopes to eradicate some of the major challenges while growing up in America. Alya Nuri is a girl that wants nothing more than to help others her age stay far away from drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.
“I have read over a hundred books on these 3 topics and understand why it is not good for anyone to smoke, drink, or take drugs,” Alya Nuri explains.
“I am hoping to educate the youth about these topics before they get pressured to start these bad habits,” adds Alya.
With more than 1,700 alcohol-related deaths each year among college students, and over 80,000 kids trying smoking for the first time in America, Alya Nuri’s series of books could not have come at a better time. Each book aims to open a dialogue among the youth of today in a language that they all share.
"One of the biggest concerns an interviewer has is to get a guest, more likely a child that answers in short, clipped sentences that provide no fertile ground from which another question can be grown. However, in Alya you have a young lady that is prepared and knows that what she is saying matters most. She has credibility!"
