HobnobCharleston Announces Trish McEvoy’s “Gorgeous Red” to Benefit Lowcountry Aids Services
This is a huge event for Charleston SC. Trish McEvoy has graciously provided an amazing lip color to raise money for Lowcountry Aids Services just in time for Aids Awareness. HobnobCharleston will be involved in the launch of the product at Social Wine Bar on East Bay with DJ Spaced Invaders and world renowned makeup artist Andrew Peterson.
Charleston, SC, October 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Hobnobcharleston is proud to be a part of an amazing fund raising event to benefit Lowcountry Aids Services (LAS). Trish McEvoy has developed a stunning red lip color, “Gorgeous Red.” It will first be introduced in South Carolina to the Charleston, South Carolina, market in November 2009.
Three dollars and fifty cents will be donated to LAS from each tube sold and will be available November 13, 2009, and continue through the holiday season. The public can purchase the lipstick at Saks Fifth Ave. on King Street or Gwynns in Mt. Pleasant.
This is the first time Trish McEvoy has focused efforts on a geographically localized Organization, as the proceeds raised will stay in the Charleston agency.
The idea to create a lip color specifically for Charleston came about when Trish McEvoy was motivated by a long time employee, Andrew Petersen. Andrew relied heavily on LAS while working on his personal road to recovery and Trish wanted to give something back to the agency that had helped Andrew through such a difficult time.
When asked about her decision to dedicate some much time and efforts on the
Charleston LAS Lipstick Trish said, “Over the years I have observed many men of great talent and beauty battle and, in many cases, triumph over this terrible disease, spiritually if not physically. I have seen makeup serve as a healer in more ways than one and my donation of the proceeds from my new “Gorgeous Red” lip color is a literal and figurative symbol of the fight against AIDS.”
“I am well aware that though AIDS finds itself less in the headlines these days it continues to devastate--both in the developing world, and our own backyard. This is not the time to slow our efforts to find a vaccine or a cure, to pull back on teaching prevention and testing, or to forget for a moment our brothers and sisters living with the diagnosis.”
There will be many events in the Charleston, South Carolina, area to support the lip color. On November 17, 2009, Social Wine Bar and Restaurant on East Bay Street will host a launch party with DJ Spaced Invaders, food and drink specials, door prizes. Lipstick consultations will be provided, showing how anyone can wear red lips. All the events will also be promoting World Aids Day which is December 1, 2009.
